Villarreal host Elche at Estadio de la Cerámica on Sunday 8 March, 14:00, with key fitness calls looming as they look to consolidate a Champions League place.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, head coach Marcelino García Toral and his staff have several selection questions for the visit of the side led by Eder Sarabia, formerly on the Cantera Grogueta staff.
Gerard Moreno could rejoin the squad after several weeks out with a hamstring problem, having trained with the group on Thursday. In principle he would be included and start from the bench.
The forward has not featured since 31 January, when his two goals secured a 2-2 draw at El Sadar against Osasuna. He has since missed five games, with home wins over Espanyol and Valencia, an away victory at Levante, and away defeats at Getafe and Camp Nou.
Ayoze Pérez sustained a thigh contusion and asked to come off at Camp Nou, and has not yet trained with the group. He is a serious doubt for Sunday, with two sessions remaining to gauge his progress.
Willy Kambwala completed the full session again, but he does not yet have medical clearance and is unavailable for selection.
