Seleção Brasileira face Scotland on Wednesday 24, with Vini Jr and Lucas Paquetá available to Carlo Ancelotti. The Flamengo academy pair reached seven direct goal contributions between them in the game against Haiti during the World Cup.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Paquetá has scored three times from Vinicius Júnior passes, while Vini has four goals set up by the midfielder. Their tally of direct combinations stands at seven across 82 matches together.

The duo first played together in Flamengo’s senior side in 2017, with their first mutual goal involvement coming in round 21 of that year’s Brasileirão. On that occasion Vini scored twice against Atlético-GO, one laid on by Paquetá, in a 2-0 win.

They remained team-mates until mid-2018, when the forward was old enough to join the Spanish club, and Milan signed the midfielder later that year, starting seven seasons in Europe. They reunited for Brazil from 2020 and are now at a second World Cup together after Qatar in 2022.

After impressing at West Ham, Paquetá said it was time to return to Flamengo, adding that Vini encouraged him and even offered to help complete the move. The current Flamengo number 20 has also said a moment will come for the Real Madrid star to return. Vini has one year left on his contract in Spain, and the tendency is for a renewal.
