According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Vinícius’s Real Madrid future has been decided after a morning meeting in Valdebebas. The talks involved his agent and general director José Ángel Sánchez.
Madrid raised their net offer from 22 million euros a year to 25, but the forward is asking for 30, plus a signing-on bonus and 80% of his image rights.
The sale itself, and any hole in the squad, is no longer the main concern. Vinícius is not considering a new deal and had been minded to finish his final year, leave for free and collect a signing-on fee at Arsenal.
The path now outlined would see a transfer to Arsenal, with Madrid paid a fee and the player taking a percentage as a de facto signing-on bonus. Figures discussed include 150 million euros, split either 100 to Madrid and 50 to the Brazilian, or 80 to the club and 70 to the player.
Madrid want this resolved while preparing to announce Ivorian Yan Diomande for 135 million, 120 plus 15 in variables, which would be a club record. Rodri would follow at 65 million, 50 fixed and 15 in add-ons. The combined 200 million outlay is one they hope to trim by 100 through Vinícius’s exit.
