Liverpool are coming off a 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday night at Anfield. The Reds have one more Premier League match before turning their full attention to the first leg against Paris Saint-Germain next week at the Parc des Princes.
Next weekend, Liverpool will host Southampton, currently at the bottom of the table. It’ll be interesting to see if manager Arne Slot rotates his squad in preparation for PSG, especially with a solid lead over Arsenal.
That means Liverpool will have the weekend off to focus on the Parisians. Meanwhile, PSG face LOSC Lille at the Parc des Princes on Saturday night, and manager Luis Enrique may make changes to his lineup, given their comfortable lead in Ligue 1.

It’s the old debate of rest versus rust and Liverpool will rest this weekend as they won’t have an opportunity to build more momentum heading into the PSG clash. As for their opponent, they’ll be playing this weekend.
Ahead of the first leg next week, Virgil van Dijk spoke to the media about the squad resting this weekend and whether they’ll be affected by it.
“It’s difficult to say because obviously I know how much it means to us and the fans to win the FA Cup,” van Dijk said. “But at this stage of the season you could argue it because sometimes you stay in the rhythm as well and sometimes it’s good to get a rest. We have to maximise rest now because there is no other way, and be ready for PSG in the week.”
