Vladimir Petkovic signed a contract extension with Algeria on Sunday, ahead of the World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July.
The Algerian federation said in a statement that the Swiss coach has committed until 31 July 2028, citing remarkable results since his arrival.

Appointed in February 2024 to replace Djamel Belmadi after a group-stage exit at the Africa Cup of Nations, Petkovic, 62, has reshaped the side.
He has overseen 28 matches, returning 21 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats.
Under his watch, Algeria reached the quarter-finals at the most recent AFCON and secured World Cup qualification, their first since 2014.
