Juventus have entered a pivotal period in their summer reshuffle, with high-profile departures and new arrivals all under the microscope. According to reporting from Tutto Juve, JNetwork24, Spazio J, and Bianconera News, the Bianconeri are determined to accelerate a transition in attack and clarify the status of several prominent squad members.
The biggest immediate obstacle in the market is Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker turned down an offer from Al Ahli worth €20 million net per year, preferring to remain in a top European league. However, his contract—now boosted to €10.5 million net for the coming season after a loyalty bonus activated on June 30—continues to be a significant burden on the club’s finances. A further increase to €12 million comes into play next summer if he stays, and with his deal set to expire in June 2026, Juventus face the risk of losing a major asset on a free if a solution isn’t found this window.
The standoff is causing frustration within the club. As highlighted by journalist Michele De Blasis, Juventus are “irritated” by Vlahovic’s resistance to being sold. If the impasse continues after the Club World Cup, the club could even consider leaving him out of the squad. There is a strong desire to avoid the scenario where Vlahovic runs down his contract, diminishing his market value and straining the wage structure.
Attention, therefore, has shifted to Jonathan David. Talks with the Canadian striker have reached an advanced stage, with an agreement on personal terms at €6 million plus bonuses annually over five years. Negotiations continue over agent commissions and signing bonuses, but club officials remain optimistic that a deal can be struck. The successful pursuit of David is closely linked to developments with Vlahovic, with a new centre-forward viewed as essential to Igor Tudor’s plans for a more dynamic, cost-effective forward line.
The situation with Jadon Sancho is also unfolding. According to Sportmediaset and Spazio J, the former Dortmund winger, currently at Manchester United, has signaled a strong preference for Juventus over other suitors like Fenerbahce. The primary obstacle is his salary, which is currently too high for Juventus' structure, but efforts are being made to find a formula that could bring Sancho to Turin and strengthen the attacking options around Kenan Yildiz.
Beyond the transfer market, former Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie pointed out that the team already have the foundations for a competitive squad, stressing the importance of building around players like Yildiz, Bremer, and Thuram. Meanwhile, Christian Vieri expressed his approval of Tudor’s confirmed tenure as head coach, suggesting that continuity and clarity in the technical area will benefit the club during this phase of transformation.
Finally, with the Club World Cup adding further fixture congestion and physical demands, concerns are mounting about player fatigue and the risk of burnout heading into the new campaign. Ciccio Graziani, speaking to Radio Sportiva, warned that both Juventus and Inter could feel the effects of this packed schedule, given the brief off-season and extended international commitments.
