Vojvoda confirms internal Santos meeting amid pressure and calls for unity | OneFootball

Juan Pablo Vojvoda has confirmed he held an internal meeting at Santos amid a run of seven matches without a win and rising external pressure. He said it took place before the clássico against São Paulo.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the gathering brought together players, directors and staff at CT Rei Pelé to align the club’s environment during a delicate spell.

Speaking after the draw with São Paulo, Vojvoda said the aim was to strengthen unity inside the club, regardless of outside demonstrations. He referenced arriving with the president and Mattos, and said they sought stability at Santos, noting the team had not competed at the top of the table in recent years.

He added that the process involves institutional organisation and building credibility as well as results. He said those at the club had spoken to him about results and the need to organise, and that economic order and external credibility must be earned over time. He accepted mistakes happen but urged togetherness.

Santos have started the season without a win and have faced supporter protests in recent days. Internally, the coach again stressed the importance of a united environment to chase a reaction in the coming games.

Santos visit Noroeste on Sunday in the Campeonato Paulista.
