Wallace Yan signalled his return after missing Flamengo’s recent matches under Filipe Luís with muscle pain, sharing “De volta” alongside a training photo from Ninho do Urubu.

He has not played since 7 February in the rout of Sampaio Corrêa-RJ, spending time with the medical department for a muscle injury. Before the Carioca semi-final there was uncertainty over his fitness, and the club said he had begun reconditioning work with the fitness staff.

Early in the season he indicated he was leaving Flamengo for Red Bull Bragantino, but contractual differences meant the move did not happen, so he remains available to the Rubro-Negro.

With Wallace Yan in the group, Flamengo began preparations for the Recopa decider on Monday afternoon at Ninho do Urubu, with two further sessions planned before the game.

Flamengo face Lanús at 21:30 Brasília time on Thursday, 26, at the Maracanã.
