Real Madrid star Federico Valverde conjured up a moment of individual brilliance on the international front in the early hours of Wednesday.
This came in Uruguay’s World Cup qualifying showdown with heavyweights Brazil.
When all was said and done in Bahia, the two nations were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, owing to a 1-1 stalemate.
It was the aforementioned Valverde, meanwhile, who opened the scoring in proceedings, early in the 2nd-half.
Picked out on the edge of the Brazilian penalty area, the 26-year-old dropped his shoulder, guiding the ball onto his trusty right foot, before picking out the far bottom corner courtesy of a pinpoint strike.
All of a Real Madrid persuasion will no doubt be hopeful of Valverde carrying such goalscoring form back onto the club front, ahead of a hectic run of fixtures for Carlo Ancelotti’s Blancos over the weeks ahead.
