Footage of the exact moment in which Real Betis star Antony discovered that his recent red card had been overturned has on Wednesday come to the fore online.

Wide-man Antony, for his part, has of course endured something of a whirlwind last few days.

After playing a starring role in Real Betis’ La Liga victory over Getafe, the Brazilian was given his marching orders deep into injury time for a tackle from behind.

Betis, adamant that minimal contact had in fact been made by their winter loan signing, in turn launched an appeal to the RFEF.

And as much, on Wednesday, had a successful outcome, Antony’s red card rescinded, and his one-match ban overturned.

The Manchester United man will therefore be available for selection to boss Manuel Pellegrini to face reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid this weekend.
