Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen moved to showcase his support for a member of the club’s summer recruitment drive, on the back of last night’s Joan Gamper Trophy.
Barcelona of course marked their return to action on Sunday evening.
In the final fixture of the club’s pre-season schedule, Hansi Flick’s troops faced off with Serie A outfit Como, in the annual Joan Gamper Trophy match.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a dominant 5-0 result.
The aforementioned Marc-André ter Stegen for his part spoke to the club’s supporters ahead of kick-off, but played no part in the clash after recently undergoing back surgery.
As alluded to above, though, it was the German’s actions post-match which have since turned heads across the Barcelona fanbase.
This comes with Ter Stegen having moved to put to bed the speculation that his recent actions came with a view to blocking fellow shot-stopper Joan García’s registration for the season ahead.
As showcased below, following the full-time whistle in Catalunya on Sunday, Barca’s captain congratulated Joan on his performance with a warm hug:
