Marc Cucurella got Chelsea’s crucial second goal last night, approved by VAR after a nervy wait.
Once again, the defender has proved absolutely crucial for this team, both defensively and in grabbing big goals. His reaction after the game tells you everything.

“We are very happy. We work for moments like this. We showed the mentality of the team,” Cucurella said to the club’s official website.
“We went 2-0 down at half-time and there were doubts and probably not too many people believed in us. Then we speak during the half-time, we go with a lot of energy and we come back, so we are very happy.
“Sometimes when you are losing you lose confidence, but in both games we stayed in the game, we did things right and we have a lot of quality, so if we stick together and we fight together these things can happen.”
To do it twice in one week is truly impressive. These players have always had the ability – it’s just a question of getting them to believe, and to play in a style which allows them to score at any moment.
Of course the next stage is to get them starting strong – but no fans will be complaining if the comebacks keep coming. The vibes are very good at Stamford Bridge right now.
Cole Palmer is still being brought along slowly after his long and frustrating injury, but last night was a big step in the right direction.
Levi Colwill is another significant defensive figure who is out right now, and Rosenior’s update on him was really exciting. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves but it sounds like his ACL rehab is ahead of schedule.
