‘We have to be nearly perfect’… Jagoba Arrasate opines on how his Mallorca team can beat Barcelona | OneFootball

Following a thrilling match against Celta Vigo, which they were able to win only in the very last minutes, FC Barcelona are set to play another match in La Liga tomorrow as they face Mallorca at the Montjuic.

The Catalans will be looking to get the full three points from this game, especially after Real Madrid won their match over Athletic Club, and will also look to get a win to go into the Copa del Rey final on Saturday in the best of spirits.

Meanwhile, Mallorca will also be looking to get a positive result from this game, as they are fighting for a European position and are only a single point ahead of Celta Vigo in the 7th place.

Still, getting a result against Barcelona will be a significant challenge for the Majorca side, and as SPORT has reported, their head coach, Jagoba Arrasate, also recognised the difficult task that awaits his team.

The Spanish coach was clear that his team will have to put in a perfect performance to get a result at the Montjuic:

“It’s never a good time to go to this kind of stadium. To get a result, we have to be nearly perfect defensively and show the same effectiveness we had in Donosti.”

Arrasate also gave his opinion on how his team will be able to get the better of Barcelona in this match:

“To be defensively solid and make it hard for them to create dangerous situations. With the ball, I want us to be able to string together 3–4 passes and be deep, although once the referee blows the whistle, everything becomes more difficult.”

Similarly, he also recognised the threat his team will be facing while playing against Hansi Flick’s side:

“They take a lot of risks. We have to be aware of the players out wide and the runs they make, of the centre-backs who push up into the opponent’s half… They have many variations and are a constant threat. To hurt them, we need to make them run backwards.”

Barcelona are clearly the favourites going into this game. However, as Arrasate highlighted, his team can still spring a surprise by putting in a perfect performance, and this possibility only makes this upcoming match even the more interesting.
