A number of names have been linked with the managerial vacancy at Norwich City
Gary O’Neil, Russell Martin and Will Still have all been mentioned as candidates in line to potentially take charge at Norwich City.
According to journalist Rob Butler, the Canaries are aiming to confirm the replacement for Liam Manning before the team’s return to action following the international break.
The 40-year-old was dismissed following last weekend’s 2-1 loss to Leicester City, which was their seventh loss in eight league games.
Manning was appointed in the summer, arriving from Bristol City after he led the team to a sixth place finish in the Championship last season.
However, his tenure has proven short-lived, with supporters turning on the ex-Robins coach after a disastrous start to the campaign.

O’Neil, Martin and Still are all in the running to potentially replace Manning at Carrow Road, with sporting director Ben Knapper believed to be leading the search.
The ex-Arsenal man has come under pressure for his role in appointing Manning earlier this year, but it’s understood he still has the backing of owner Mark Attanasio.
However, the American is reportedly set to be more involved in the hiring process for Manning’s successor.
It is hoped that an appointment can be made before the team’s next league game, which isn’t until 22 November due to the current international break.
This gives the club some time to find a replacement to Manning, who oversaw just 15 league games in charge.
It is expected that Norwich will be looking at coaches who are currently out of work, which applies to all of O’Neil, Martin and Still.
O’Neil was linked with a return to Wolves last month, but he reportedly withdrew his name, which led to the appointment of Rob Edwards instead.
Meanwhile, Martin and Still were both sacked by Rangers and Southampton, respectively, at an earlier point in this season.
Norwich are 23rd in the Championship table and four points adrift of safety already, so there is a lot of pressure on the club to get this right.
There is also a lot of pressure on Knapper to turn things around, as his position will surely be threatened if the team’s form isn’t improved under a new coach.
Attanasio getting more involved is a warning sign for the sporting director, and indicates an erosion of trust in his ability to oversee the day-to-day running of the side.
