Andrée Jeglertz says Manchester City are a very different side from the one that faced Chelsea on the opening day of the Women’s Super League season.
City welcome the London side to the Joie Stadium on Wednesday for a Subway Women’s League Cup semi-final at 19:00 (UK).
It will be a clash between the two top teams in the WSL as well as being a re-run of the 2025 final.
We last met in September 2025 when Chelsea won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in Jeglertz’s first game in charge of City.
But since then we have won 11 straight games in the WSL to go six points clear with confidence high in the squad.

Asked what has changed since our opening day clash, Jeglertz said: “A lot of things.
“First of all the confidence that we know what we’re supposed to do, we’re clear with our relationships and the game model, we’ve been winning a lot of games, we have a great squad and know what we can expect.
“That was the first game, but we’re in a different place. There’s definitely been a big change since then.”
City have also been in impressive form on the way to the semi-finals, beating West Ham 5-1 in the quarter-finals after an unbeaten group phase.
And the boss says is excited about an early opportunity to challenge for silverware.

“I came to this club because I want to win something and to win things you need to be in finals,” he added.
“This is a great opportunity to qualify for that. We’ll do everything we can to win on Wednesday.”
The boss will not underestimate the danger from our opponents with Sonia Bompastor’s side winning the domestic treble last season.
Chelsea dropped points in the WSL before Christmas but Jeglertz has no doubts about their quality.
“Chelsea are a great team and everyone is talking about them not having a good season so far but just took at the results they’ve done and how they perform,” he said.
“They’ve lost some points and are playing that many games during autumn it caused a bit of a drop in some parts of their game but it’s a great team with great individual players with huge success in the last years.
“They’re definitely a team that’s coming with confidence to their game.”
