Bad news for Gasperini. Wesley, who played 71 minutes for Brazil in yesterday’s 2-1 friendly loss to France, has been suffering from physical problems.

Ancelotti, in fact, as reported by cbf.com, has excluded him from the squad because he, along with Raphinha, suffered a problem with the back of his right thigh in yesterday’s match.

Wesley, after complaining of discomfort in his right thigh, underwent medical tests today.

The results are a blow for Roma and Gasperini: there’s a risk of a muscle injury. Recovery time will be assessed.

The full-back has been cleared to leave the training camp to continue his recovery.

The 2003-born full-back will return to Rome in the next few hours, but at this point his participation in the match against Inter is highly doubtful. It’s unlikely he’ll be available, so the Grugliasco-based coach will have to consider alternatives to stem the Nerazzurri’s strength.
