Samuel Iling-Junior is set to have his loan spell with West Brom cut short ahead of a loan move to Serie A side Pisa
Aston Villa winger Samuel Iling-Junior is set to have his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion cut short before the deadline ahead of a switch to Italian Serie A side Pisa.
As per Pete O’Rourke via X, Iling-Junior is set to have his loan spell with West Brom cut short this month ahead of a proposed move to Italian outfit Pisa.
Iling-Junior, by most accounts, has endured a difficult spell with the Baggies since his loan switch in the summer, scoring just once without assisting in 24 Championship appearances this campaign.
The former Juventus man has played in numerous positions at The Hawthorns this season under both Ryan Mason and, most recently, Eric Ramsay, but looks set to leave the club early ahead of a return to Italy.

Indeed, Iling-Junior is to have his loan spell with West Brom cancelled today and will make another return to Italy with Serie A strugglers Pisa.
The 22-year-old joined Villa from Juventus in the summer of 2024 for around £11.8 million, and would spend the first half of last season on loan with Bologna before spending the second half with Middlesbrough.
Since his loan move to the Baggies in the summer, Iling-Junior has failed to make the desired impact, with his solo goal in West Brom’s 1-1 home draw to Leicester City in September the only flash of his talent that was displayed.
However, with Iling-Junior on the way out of The Hawthorns, another Villa youngster, Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba, is set to make the move across Birmingham to West Brom for the remainder of the season.
Jimoh-Aloba netted the winner in Villa’s 3-2 victory over RB Salzburg in the Europa League last Thursday, and is set to join the Baggies on loan before the deadline, having spent much of his youth career with the club.
It’s been a disappointing stint for Iling-Junior with West Brom, and Baggies supporters will be hoping that Jimoh-Aloba can make more of an impact upon his impending arrival.

It hasn’t been the arrival that head coach Eric Ramsay would have been hoping for.
With Ryan Mason’s underwhelming tenure coming to an end, the Baggies sought to appoint Minnesota United’s Welsh head coach Ramsay as his replacement, but with no wins and 12 goals conceded in his first four, he couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start.
Goalkeeper Max O’Leary, signed from Bristol City, remains their only January addition thus far, with Jimoh-Aloba set to become the next following Iling-Junior’s loan cancellation.
Ramsay will be hoping that Iling-Junior’s departure, along with Jimoh-Aloba’s arrival, can have the positive impact that the Baggies desperately need, hovering just above the relegation zone as things stand.
