According to ExpressAndStar.com, West Brom are interested in SK Brann midfielder Felix Horn Myhre. Head coach James Morrison wants midfield reinforcements before the Championship begins in two and a half weeks.

The 27-year-old Norway international has seven caps and two goals, and he has attracted La Liga interest from Elche.

Albion are understood to be pursuing a move for Myhre, who is regarded as a leading Eliteserien midfielder. There are claims in Norway that a bidding war is likely. Bodo/Glimt and Brondby have also held interest.

He has around 18 months remaining on a contract that runs to December 2027. Brann valued him at £3.4 million last summer, which deterred Elche, and the asking price is thought to be lower now.

Brann sit eighth in the calendar-year Eliteserien. They face Universitatea Cluj in a Europa Conference League second round second leg qualifier on Thursday, with the tie at 2-2 and Myhre set to feature.

Brann were also the former club of Aune Heggebo, who joined Albion for £4.7 million 12 months ago. Morrison's senior midfield options are Alex Mowatt, Jayson Molumby and Ousmane Diakite, who signed an extended deal this summer.

Myhre is a creative number eight and is viewed as very comfortable technically, having earlier played at right-back. He missed Norway’s World Cup squad, which included former Baggie Torbjorn Heggem and reached the quarter-finals before extra-time defeat to England.
