West Brom cruised to a friendly win at Shrewsbury, with Jimmy-Jay Morgan scoring twice, Harry Whitwell and Aune Heggebo also on target.

Earlier in the day, Albion lost 3-1 in a behind-closed-doors training-ground game against League One Notts County.

Max O’Leary was mostly a bystander, an error in possession preceded the hosts’ goal by Fletcher, rated six. Right-back Alex Williams was front-foot and ambitious, a bright seven.

Chris Mepham defended soundly and made key blocks, then flicked on for the third, steady seven. George Campbell had the odd wobble and felt he was fouled for Shrewsbury’s goal, six. Callum Styles was quieter from left-back, six.

Whitwell impressed with a fine strike and lively play from the right and inside, standout eight. Ousmane Diakite mixed the tidy with the loose, one effort cracked the bar, busy seven.

Captain Alex Mowatt moved the ball with purpose and his delivery from open play and set pieces stood out, leader eight. Isaac Price continued his strong form cutting in off the left, seven.

Heggebo worked relentlessly, nodded in a late fourth from close range, seven. Morgan was a livewire, hit the side-netting and the post before a deft chip and a poacher’s second, then crossed for the fourth.
