FLW's West Brom fan pundit has his say on Coventry's ticket prices for late November clash
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...
West Brom and Coventry are regarded as two of the so-called 'big dogs' in the Championship, but £45 to watch the two teams go head-to-head in late November is extortionate.
For fans across the country, going to watch your team home and away at a weekend is what being a football fan is all about. Win, lose or draw, backing your team right to the very end, regardless of being promotion contenders or relegation battlers, is what makes the EFL so special.
However, one thing that football should be, is accessible. And for Coventry City, regardless of how well the club is doing in the league, having won six games on the bounce and sitting pretty at the top of the Championship, charging adult West Brom fans £45 for a ticket to see the two teams meet on 22nd November is a "disgrace" as put by Football League World's West Brom fan pundit, Callum.
With both West Brom and Coventry being two main sides in the promotion conversation, even that doesn't justify the ticket price being just shy of £50 for a fixture not in the top-flight of English football. Unsurprisingly, the news has been met with heavy amounts of backlash on social media by Baggies fans.

For many West Brom fans, £45 for a ticket would be enough to put them off travelling to the game, as not only do they have to make the 40-minute trip across to the CBS Arena, if you add the ticket cost, alongside the potential money spent on a matchday pie and pint, it's by no means a cheap away day for those Baggies fans.
For FLW's West Brom fan pundit, Callum, he wishes that he was surprised at the £45 ticket price. However, he picked up on the fact that Championship prices have been a big problem for some time now.
Callum said: "I think that ticket prices in the Championship have been a long-standing problem for a while now. But Coventry City charging £45 for adults, £40 for seniors, £35 for kids when I was checking the ticket information as well. It's beyond a disgrace really."
"In the Premier League, where they've got the £20 cap on away tickets, I can't see why the EFL can't do the same and apply the same price cap."
"It's a negligence on their part for not implementing it here. I've seen the prices from Coventry today apply not just to Albion, but I've seen it apply to Birmingham City as well previously, and I think it's beyond a joke and definitely needs sorting out soon."

Albion supporters have expressed their anger on social media following the announcement of £45 adult ticket prices for their away match against Coventry City later this month. Upon hearing the news, this has prompted boycott calls and has brought further attention to the need for an EFL price cap on tickets due to the financial strain it is placing on many fans up and down the country.
This behaviour is not new by any means. As Callum highlighted, this has been a problem in the second tier and beyond for a while now. Many fans online, however, are shocked at the prices and are taking a stand.
One fan commented on West Brom's ticket information post via X by saying: "These prices are a disgrace. £45 for an adult is atrocious but what's far more disgusting is £40 for a senior and £35 for an under 18. How do they expect those groups of people to afford those prices or for families to be able to go?? Shame on you Coventry City."
West Brom fans are certainly making their voices heard, but it will come as a surprise if Coventry City are to make any amends to the price list given as this has been a common occurrence. Another West Brom fan commented via X and said: "I call on all fans not to pay this! please share and encourage others to do the same. £45 for a game of football is a disgrace."
