According to SPORT‘s report, West Ham United have shown interest in two Barcelona players in the last few days. Marc Casado was initially linked with the move, but now the focus has shifted to Hector Fort. The talks have not been straightforward, but the Hammers have made it clear that they are only interested in a temporary loan deal.

It is believed that Fort could also agree if the loan deal is accompanied by a salary increase. On the other hand, Casado has not expressed any special intention to leave the Catalan club, and big clubs like Tottenham and Chelsea are keeping an eye on his situation.

In comparison, Fort’s case is different, as there is still limited space for him at Barcelona, and this allows West Ham to try this young player by bringing him to the Premier League. Aston Villa had also paid attention to him, but at the moment, the London club seem to be at the forefront of this race.

Hector Fort is an energetic right-back whose biggest strength is his positioning and his ability to run forward to contribute to attacks. The Spaniard has shown time and again that he can support defensively as well as provide width to the attack. The 19-year-old’s passing is spot on, and his ability to put in crosses is also eye-catching.

However, he is limited by both age and experience. In a physical competition like the Premier League, the Spanish right-back will need time to settle in. In addition, he lacks strength in aerial duels, and his fitness in long matches could be questionable. This is why Barcelona have always seen him as a backup to Jules Kounde.

The right move or a risky bet?
