The 25-year-old, who made 58 appearances for the Hammers, has joined the Frauen-Bundesliga side for a reported £150,000.

Tysiak told her new club’s official website:”Union has made enormous progress in women’s football in Germany in recent years.

“After talking to those in charge, it quickly became clear to me that I wanted to be part of this development. I’m looking forward to Berlin, the stadium, the fans and of course playing together with Hannah again,” said Amber Tysiak when signing her contract.”

Amber Tysiak sends farewell message to West Ham fans

After the announcement of her move, Tysiak took to Instagram to say farewell to West Ham fans.

She said: “Thank you to all the players, staff and fans for an unforgettable time at West Ham United. You made this journey truly special and I’ll miss you all.

“West Ham has been such an important chapter in my life, one that shaped me, challenged me and helped me grow both on and off the pitch.

“I’ve learned so much, created memories I’ll never forget and met people who will always have a place in my heart.”

West Ham could be set to lose another defender during the January transfer window.

Anouk Dentron, who was linked with Juventus, has been tipped to join NWSL side Bay FC.

West Ham have brought in Estelle Cascarino on a season-long loan from Juventus. However, she was denied her debut against Chelsea, after she was wearing an earring which has to be removed by a doctor.

Tysiak’s West Ham career

Tysiak joined West Ham from Belgian side OH Leuven in January 2023 and quickly became a regular in the starting XI.

She made 58 appearances over three years and scored four goals, the last of which came in their 3-1 victory over Everton in November.

West Ham finished eighth in her first season at the club, before finishing 11th in 2023-24.

The Hammers improved to ninth last season but are locked in a relegation fight this campaign.

Rita Guarino’s side are 11th in the WSL, just one point above bottom-club Liverpool, after taking just one win from 12 games.

The 5-0 loss to Chelsea was Guarino’s first game in charge after she replaced Rehanne Skinner.

Should West Ham finish bottom, they will face a playoff with the side placed third in WSL 2 to determine whether they are relegated.
