West Ham are reportedly interested in striking deals for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson and Dwight McNeil of Everton this summer
West Ham are poised to undergo hectic activity in this summer's freshly-commenced transfer window following relegation from the Premier League, with the Hammers' shock Championship return sure to spark a significant rebuilding process at the London Stadium.
There have already been seismic changes at boardroom level, with David Sullivan stepping away from his role amid a high-profile legal investigation, as a frantic summer awaits in this corner of East London.
Reports have suggested that West Ham must raise up to £150 million in player sales over the course of the summer in order to offset wholesale losses imposed by relegation, and the club will be fighting desperately to balance the books as they prepare for a first campaign in the Championship in 14 years.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes, El-Hadji Malick Diouf, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have each been the subject of intense speculation in recent times, and there is no shortage of interest in some of the club's top talent after falling out of the Premier League.
Nuno Espiritio Santo is vying to complete a host of acquisitions to kick-start the Hammers' rebuild, though, with numerous players having been linked with moves to E20 in recent weeks.
Welsh international trio Jordan James, Dylan Lawlor and Rubin Colwill - the latter two of Championship rivals Cardiff City - Celtic star Arne Engels, Sheffield United's Sydie Peck and Joe Willock of Newcastle United have all been touted as potential arrivals this summer, in which the Hammers will be bidding to flex their financial muscles and stamp down their authority in the market while raising and recouping funds by overseeing a mass exodus.
Nuno's squad is set to look rather different once the 2026/27 Championship campaign heads underway in August, and West Ham's interest in completing two deals involving Arsenal and Everton has now been revealed in a new emerging update.
The players in question are Reiss Nelson of Arsenal and Everton winger Dwight McNeil, who are both receiving interest from West Ham following the commencement of the summer window.

That's according to independent outlet exWHUEmployee - via @WestHam_Central on X - in which Nelson and McNeil have been suggested as winger profiles who the Hammers are keen on acquiring at some stage this summer.
Any potential move is cited as being dependent on how the two wide-men, both aged 26, really feel about dropping down to the Championship at this point in their careers, with those respective stances remaining unclear right now.
That, however, may be a more likely course of action for Nelson as opposed to McNeil. Once regarded among the brightest young talents in English football, the ex-Hoffenheim and Feyenoord loanee has stagnated in recent seasons amid a number of injury setbacks and has spent the last two terms on loan in West London with Fulham and Brentford respectively.
Nelson failed to start a single league game at Brentford last time out, making 14 appearances across all competitions and scoring his only goal in an EFL Cup rout of League Two side Grimsby Town last October, which means that a move to the Championship is not out of the question for the blighted forward as he heads into the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
McNeil, meanwhile, has fallen out of favour at Everton under ex-Hammers boss David Moyes, having made 130 appearances for the Toffees since arriving from Burnley nearly four years ago.

The winger's game-time was significantly reduced throughout 25/26 as he fell behind talented playmaker Iliman Ndiaye in the Scotsman's pecking order, which could prompt a move away from Merseyside this summer.
McNeil saw a proposed £20 million loan-to-buy transfer to Crystal Palace fall through on the final day of the winter window after the Eagles reportedly failed to complete key paperwork, though it's very much open to debate - and dependent on impending sales - as to whether West Ham would be able to shell out a figure of that ilk on a single player while operating outside of the Premier League.
Although both Nelson and McNeil endured frustrating individual campaigns in the top-flight, it's likely that the acquisition of either would be deemed as a coup for West Ham at Championship level.

The two wingers are vastly experienced at Premier League level and McNeil has established himself as a top-flight mainstay, whereas the talented yet often-unfortunate Nelson perhaps requires a change of scenery and a permanent home in order to truly unlock his potential.
There is, of course, every chance that the Hammers' dual interest represents signs of a contingency plan amid intensifying speculation surrounding the future of the aforementioned Summerville, with the talented £50 million-rated Dutchman now reportedly being pursued by Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as he stars for the Netherlands at this summer's World Cup in North America.
Summerville's probable departure is one of the more likely exits from the London Stadium in the coming weeks and months, which will leave Nuno in search of fresh options out wide and adding either Nelson or McNeil to his ranks would be a strong play of intent from the club in their bid to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the very first time of asking.
