FLW's West Ham fan pundit shares their thoughts on the links to Reiss Nelson and Dwight McNeil as potential Crysencio Summerville replacements
West Ham United are set to undergo huge transformations this summer, both on and off the pitch, with Portuguese head coach Nuno Espirito Santo tasked with rebuilding the Hammers in a bid to secure an immediate return to the Premier League following relegation.
It was a year to forget for West Ham supporters following relegation to the Championship on the final day, and ahead of their return to the second tier after 14 years, they will instead be hoping for a year to remember.
Nuno's appointment following the dismissal of Graham Potter was not enough to keep the club afloat, and as they head back into the second tier, it looks as though the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss will lead the way.
The Portuguese boss is no stranger to the Championship, having romped to the league title with Wolves back in the 2017/18 campaign, and will be targeting a similar outcome next time around.
He has always tended to prefer a back three system with wing-backs, but following relegation, he could be set to change his tune and look to bring in some wide attacking talent instead, especially with Crysencio Summerville edging closer to the exit door, as the rumour mill is beginning to pick up speed with the commencement of the summer transfer window.

Following relegation, West Ham are due to see an array of talent head out of the exit door, with the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Mateus Fernandes, and Summerville just a few names linked with exits already.
Summerville has been linked with a move to Manchester United, as West Ham hope to make a big profit on the £25 million they paid Leeds United for his services two years ago.
Now, the Hammers have been linked with two potential replacements, namely Arsenal's Reiss Nelson and Everton's Dwight McNeil.
Nelson, 26, has struggled to establish himself in the Gunners' first team, and having spent the season on loan with Brentford, where he again struggled to feature, could well permanently leave North London this summer.
Whilst McNeil, 26, has seen his game time take a hit this campaign, with each of Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish, Merlin Rohl, and Tyrique George often preferred to him out wide, and could well leave Merseyside this summer.
Football League World's West Ham fan pundit, Ryan Horn, has shared their thoughts on the Hammers' links with both Nelson and McNeil, and whether either of them would be ideal replacements for Summerville.
Ryan said: "I don't think they're ideal replacements for Summerville, but I would still take them.
"We're in the Championship now. We're not as ideal a destination as we were in the Premier League.
"I'm hoping that, you know, everything going forward, that we can be ambitious with our signings, but they both offer experience, and they can play on both wings, and again, more attacking options, whereas last season we didn't have any attacking options on the barely any on the wings.
"We need the depth. We'll play more games, it's more intense, and I think they can offer something. Definitely, we'll take both of them."

Nuno is no stranger to the Championship and knows exactly what it takes to not only get the team out of the league but win a league title.
With Wolves, he was bolstered by the likes of Willy Boly in defence, Ruben Neves in midfield, and Diogo Jota in attack, and will be hoping for similar, if not stronger, firepower this time around at the London Stadium.
West Ham are undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest club in the entire EFL following relegation, and must use their financial backing and overpowering stature to their advantage in the transfer market.
Whilst Nelson and McNeil are undoubtedly excellent players on their day and more than capable of ripping up the Championship, whether they are an upgrade on Summerville is up for debate.
Promotion is the only goal for West Ham next season, with anything else being a huge failure, and given the advantages at their disposal, they must make the most of them.
