West Ham climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone in emphatic style with a convincing 4-0 victory over Wolves at the London Stadium.

Knowing a win would lift them above Tottenham, the Hammers delivered when it mattered most. After a fairly even opening period, Konstantinos Mavropanos broke the deadlock just before half-time, rising highest to head Jarrod Bowen’s inswinging cross into the far corner.

Both sides struck the woodwork early in the second half, but the hosts soon took control. Taty Castellanos doubled the lead in the 66th minute after a sharp attacking move, before adding his second just two minutes later from another Bowen assist as the hosts seized full momentum.

Wolves had shown brief signs of threat earlier through Angel Gomes’ free-kick against the post, but they struggled to respond once West Ham accelerated through the gears.

Mavropanos wrapped up the scoring late on with an acrobatic finish from Bowen’s corner to seal a dominant performance and secure a vital three points in the survival battle.

The victory moves West Ham out of the bottom three and gives them a crucial boost in their bid to avoid relegation, while Wolves remain firmly in danger after extending their poor run away from home this season.
