West Ham are set to bolster their attack with Adama Traore, handing Leeds United’s relegation rivals a lift. The Hammers beat Sunderland 3-1 after victory at Tottenham, trimming the gap to six points. Leeds drew 1-1 at Everton on Monday.

According to Sky Germany, a deal is done for the Fulham winger to reunite with former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo. He is undergoing medical tests in London on Tuesday afternoon ahead of a contract to the end of the season. He had agreed terms earlier this month, though the move had stalled.

The fee is said to be around £2m, down from a £7m valuation earlier this month, with his Fulham contract up this summer. If everything is confirmed by Friday lunchtime, he could be eligible to face Chelsea on Saturday.

Traore has struggled for minutes at Craven Cottage, starting only one of his 15 Premier League appearances and totalling 274 minutes. He has not recorded a goal or assist, while last season he scored just twice in 36 games.

West Ham have already spent £45 million on forwards Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos from Gil Vicente and Lazio. Traore would join that new-look attack as Lucas Paqueta nears a £36m switch to Flamengo in his home country.

Leeds have been quieter in the market, adding only Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton. They will keep a close eye on developments in east London.
