West Ham United finally found relief on Sunday after securing a vital 3-1 victory over Newcastle United that eased the growing pressure at the London Stadium.

The win restored belief in a side that had looked drained and uncertain in recent weeks. It marked a shift in mood that could prove decisive in their fight to stay in the Premier League. However, while the result lifted spirits, uncertainty around Jarrod Bowen’s future still troubles the club.

The forward remains central to West Ham’s hopes of survival, especially as the Hammers have fallen behind in the race for Endrick. The Englishman’s energy, finishing, and consistency have often carried the team through difficult stretches.

Losing him mid-season could break any momentum they build. Reports have recently linked Tottenham with a move for the 28-year-old, as they see him as an ideal fit for Thomas Frank’s improving squad. That interest, however, brings tension, given the fierce rivalry between the two London clubs.

According to TBR Football, journalist Graeme Bailey reported that West Ham will refuse any offer for Bowen in January. The club’s hierarchy considers him untouchable for now, though next summer could bring fresh pressure. If West Ham fail to secure their place in the top flight, they might struggle to keep Bowen beyond this season.

“West Ham sources acknowledge players could leave, but Jarrod Bowen will not be one of them – the club know they can’t even consider letting him go in January. Tottenham love Bowen, but they are not alone, and whilst I don’t see him going in the New Year, come the summer, it’s going to be hard to see West Ham keeping hold of him.”

Should the Hammers sell or keep him?

For West Ham, selling Jarrod Bowen would be a major mistake, as he is a talismanic figure and a key goal contributor whom they cannot easily replace. Bowen is committed to the club, having signed a long-term contract until 2030, and remains the club’s leading Premier League goalscorer in recent seasons.

His connection with the fanbase and his iconic Europa Conference League-winning goal have cemented his legendary status. Financially, West Ham are not in a position where they are forced to sell, having reported a profit in early 2025.

While the departure of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham highlights the challenge of holding on to key players, retaining Bowen would send a strong message about the club’s ambition.

Given West Ham’s recent struggles and the pressure on new management, losing Bowen would deliver a significant blow to morale and on-pitch quality, making his retention crucial for stability and future success. The decision is not purely financial but also reflects the club’s direction and commitment to its top talent.
