Stoke City fell to a 2-0 defeat away to Millwall on Tuesday evening, and Lions fans aren't impressed with Mark Robins reaction

Millwall have recorded their third win on the bounce after defeating Stoke City at The Den on Tuesday night, thanks to goals from Femi Azeez and Tristan Crama in the first half, and Lions fans have not been impressed with Potters manager Mark Robins' reaction.

Alex Neil came back to haunt his old club, Stoke, on Tuesday evening with a 2-0 victory over the Potters.

Millwall came out of the blocks firing, with two goals in the opening 25 minutes courtesy of Femi Azeez and Tristan Crama, compiling the Potters to defeat, as Millwall leapfrogged them into third place in the Championship table.

Loanee Thierno Ballo seemingly caught Potters right-back Junior Tchamadeu in the head with a high foot just moments before teeing up Azeez at the back post with a cross from the left, but the referee waved play on and the goal was awarded, much to Stoke's dismay.

They would extend their lead just ten minutes later after a long ball from a free kick was flicked on by Crama to Ballo on the left, and once again the Austrian found his man, returning the ball to Crama, who fired into the roof of the net for his first Millwall goal, doubling the Lions' lead, and ultimately securing all three points.

Millwall limited Stoke's chances throughout the match and were deserving of the victory on the night, much to the annoyance of manager Robins.

Neil extends his impressive record over Stoke, having faced them as manager with each of Preston North End, Sunderland, and now Millwall, with six wins, two draws, and just two defeats in ten outings.

Millwall fans have reacted to Mark Robins 'dark arts' claim following victory over Stoke City

Following a first defeat in five, Stoke manager Robins claimed that Millwall won in the dark arts during the match, and never recovered from going behind.

Millwall fans have responded to Stoke's post on X, claiming their side fully deserved the victory, and that Robins was just bitter in defeat.

Millwall came away with just two yellow cards during the match, with Robins claiming that they had mastered the dark arts over his side, and with just 41% possession, the Lions were constantly able to effectively hit Stoke on the break and deal with any problems that they threatened.

This Millwall fan is claiming that Robins is just sour following defeat to Millwall, and that his excuses are null and void.

Millwall fans have made their opinion of the match clear, claiming that they were the better side regardless of any 'dark arts' excuses, and looking at the statistics according to FotMob, with Millwall's 1.48 xG compared to Stoke's 0.44, it's fair to suggest that victory was deserved.

Millwall will be targeting a top-six finish this campaign under Alex Neil after narrowly missing out last season

Millwall continue their fine run of form with victory over Stoke, which has launched them into third in the Championship table, behind only Coventry City and Middlesbrough.

The Lions have been hit-and-miss at The Den this season, with a 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough, a 2-0 defeat to Wrexham, and a 4-0 defeat to Coventry, twinned with a 1-0 victory over Watford, a 3-0 victory over West Brom, and most recently a 2-0 win against Stoke.

Millwall are yet to lose on the road this season, culminating in the third-best away record in the league, behind only Coventry and Bristol City.

Neil has two promotions in English football on his CV, the first being one with Norwich City in 2015 to the Premier League, and then with Sunderland to the Championship in 2022, both via the play-offs.

There will be real ambition around The Den that Neil could be the man to take Millwall to the Premier League for the first time and the top flight for the first time since 1990.

The Championship looks to be wide open this campaign, with none of the newly-relegated teams seemingly running away with the league like in previous years, and there is no reason why Millwall cannot capitalise on this opportunity.
