Leeds United are set to make Tarik Muharemovic their second summer addition, with the left-footed Bosnian defender poised to arrive from Sassuolo. Reaction from Serie A followers suggests the move is being warmly received.

According to Leedsunited.news, a £34m deal has been agreed and personal terms are expected to be finalised, with half of the fee reportedly owed to former club Juventus.

Leeds have already landed Harry Wilson on a free after last summer’s near miss. Further business is expected after Karl Darlow and Pascal Struijk left for Manchester United and Brighton ahead of 2026-27.

Leeds had also been linked with other defensive options, including Lloyd Kelly and Ladislav Krejci. Talks for Muharemovic were due to take place on Tuesday.

On X, one Italian football follower called it a coup and a statement signing that should buoy supporters. Others described Muharemovic as a standout in Serie A last season and a strong fit for Daniel Farke.

The fee would make him the club’s second costliest purchase, with Georginio Rutter’s 2023 arrival from Hoffenheim still the record.

He is expected to sign a five-year contract to the summer of 2031. Wages have been reported at roughly £3m a year, around £57,000 a week.
