Kylian Mbappe is now officially the No. 10 at Real Madrid. Following the departure of Luka Modric, the French superstar has claimed the number he wears for his national team.
Meanwhile, defender Raul Asencio, officially registered as a first-team player, has taken up the No. 17 shirt vacated by the departure of another club legend Lucas Vazquez.
With Dean Huijsen taking number 24, Trent Alexander-Arnold occupying #12 and Alvaro Carreras getting handed No. 18, the big question is what shirt number will fellow new signing Franco Mastantuono will wear at Real Madrid.
According to AS, the most likely scenario at the moment is that Mastantuono takes over the No. 16 shirt at Real Madrid.
With the 10 now taken by Mbappe, the #9 shirt worn by him in his debut season is currently vacant. Endrick, who wears the 16, is a leading candidate to inherit the famous number, previously worn by club legends including Karim Benzema.

While there is the possibility that Gonzalo Garcia could compete for that shirt, the likelihood is that Endrick will inherit the No. 9 shirt vacated by Mbappe.
And, once Endrick’s new number is confirmed, the vacant No. 16 shirt could go to Mastantuono, who will join the squad only a few days before the start of the season, after he turns 18 years old.
The No. 16 shirt has previously worn by some club icons like Fernando Hierro, Raul Gonzalez, and Emilio Butragueno.
Recently, prior to Endrick taking over, the shirt was held by Alvaro Odriozola, Luka Jovic, James Rodriguez, and Mateo Kovacic.
At this point, the indication is that Mastantuono will take the No. 16 shirt at Real Madrid, although that might change if there are any first-team departures in the weeks to come.
