The midfielder was one of the Sky Blues' outstanding performers this term, scoring 10 goals and producing seven assists in 39 second-tier appearances.

Coventry ran away with the Championship title race, ultimately finishing 11 points clear of Ipswich Town, who clinched the other automatic promotion spot.

Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard is now tasked with helping the likes of Torp adjust to the demands of Premier League football, while he must also utilise the summer transfer window to bolster his squad.

Torp was in particularly good form in the closing stages of the season, notching three assists and two goals in his last four Championship appearances.

The 26-year-old's return of 10 goals and seven assists this season is his career best, meaning that he will head into the Premier League full of confidence.

Meanwhile, speaking to the BBC, one Coventry supporter revealed a conversation she had with Torp, having bumped into the midfielder outside a toilet at a David Guetta pool party in Las Vegas: "So we were coming out the toilet, and he was just going in, and I went, 'Victor, Victor, can we get a photo please?'

"I've got a tattoo on my arm, Play Up Sky Blues, and I showed him that, and he was laughing, and he said we were the first Cov fans that they'd seen so far."

The supporter also revealed that she was on the same flight home as goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who has performed exceptionally for Lampard's men while on loan from Brighton.

According to The StandardCoventry are the frontrunners to land a permanent deal for Rushworth despite rival interest from Newcastle United.

The 24-year-old maintained 17 clean sheets in the Championship this term, making key saves throughout the season, suggesting that he could be a real asset for the Sky Blues in the Premier League.

Coventry have been on an incredible journey since winning promotion from League Two in 2018, which has ultimately culminated in the West Midlands outfit booking their place in the Premier League eight years later.

Lampard's predecessor, Mark Robins, successfully steered the Sky Blues from the fourth tier to a Championship play-off final and an FA Cup semi-final, while the current boss has finished that journey by guiding his club to the top flight.

However, Coventry are now set for one of their biggest challenges in modern times, having reached the Premier League for the first time in 25 years.

Meanwhile, The Sun have reported that Crystal Palace have eyed Lampard, following his stellar Championship campaign at the CBS Arena.

If the Sky Blues lose the 47-year-old's managerial services, it would present them with a difficult challenge ahead of their upcoming Premier League season.

Meanwhile, should Lampard remain in the Coventry dugout, he must work hard with owner Doug King to build a squad who have a chance of earning top-flight survival.
