Wolves will bank £117.7m from the Premier League’s record £3 billion central distributions, while Aston Villa’s fourth-place finish is worth £182.6m. Wolves drop into the Championship after eight years in the top flight.
According to The Athletic, this is the largest payout in the league’s history, driven by growing overseas TV deals that now account for about half of distributions. This season also opened a new domestic broadcast cycle, with more matches shown live in the UK.
Finishing bottom leaves Wolves around £1.6m shy of 19th-placed Burnley, who are due £118.1m. Parachute payments await in the Championship, although they are far lower than top-flight income.
Wolves could have overtaken Burnley on the final day had they won at Turf Moor.
At the top end, champions Arsenal will receive £198.7m, with Manchester City on £192.5m and Manchester United £191.5m. Liverpool are set for £181.8m.
