“When an opportunity like this comes along, you just can't let it slip by”: Victor Munoz excited by £34m Liverpool move | OneFootball

Victor Munoz has spoken for the first time as a Liverpool player and said a move to Anfield was an opportunity that he could not turn down.

Munoz has signed for Liverpool from Osasuna for a fee of around £34m and will link up with the Reds after representing Spain at this summer'sWorld Cup.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in La Liga last term, scoring six times and providing two assists for an Osasuna team that narrowly avoided relegation.

His performances earned Munoz a debut for Spain in March, which he marked with a goal against Serbia.

The winger attracted interest from several clubs this summer, including Newcastle United, but admitted his decision was made when Liverpool firmed up interest with an offer.

Speaking toEFE, Munoz said: "The truth is it all happened very quickly but, well, when an opportunity like this comes along, you just can't let it slip by.

"It's something unique to be able to play there at Anfield, and both me and my family had absolutely no doubts.

"The truth is it's a chapter for my future that could be really special. I'm really looking forward to it.

"But if I'm honest with you, right now my eyes are completely set on things here [at the World Cup], on trying to get fit as soon as possible."
