A new Premier League 2025/26 net spend ranking sets out where Leeds United and their rivals stood in the market.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds survived with room to spare, finishing 14th, eight points clear of West Ham in 18th, while posting a £91.5m net spend from £100.1m spent and £8.6m recouped.
Arsenal won the title for the first time since the Invincibles season of 2003/04, holding off a late Manchester City surge, and topped the spending chart with a £250.1m net spend after £263m out and £12.9m in.
Liverpool’s gross outlay reached £442m with £207m recouped, leaving a £235m net spend that was £69m higher than Manchester United’s, with City just under £100m lower than Liverpool.
Among the newly promoted sides, Sunderland led the way with £156m spent and £37m recouped for a £119m net spend, while Newcastle United endured a rough campaign despite £252m out, £157m in and a £95m net spend.
