Whether Leeds United will make a bid for a 19-year-old attacker they have been linked with will become clear in the next few days, it has been claimed in Turkey.
The Yorkshire giants have strengthening their forward department high on their agenda and they have signed the first player of this summer transfer window in the form of Lukas Nmecha.
More arrivals are being worked on in what could be an extremely busy summer for Leeds as they know they must take a quality leap with their recruitment to give themselves a chance of seeing another season in the Premier League.
Players across Europe are being linked with Leeds and Besiktas’ young attacker Semih Kilicsoy has now emerged as a possible target for the Elland Road club.
Besiktas boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want to lose the young striker, who has made 85 appearances for the senior team with 16 goals under his belt and is considered a top talent at just 19 years of age.
Potential movement from Leeds for Kilicsoy should become clear quickly as, according to Turkish broadcaster A Spor, ‘whether Leeds United will make an official offer for Semih Kilicsoy will become clear in the coming days’.
Besiktas will be waiting to see if Leeds do submit a firm proposal for the attacker – with it suggested the Whites could offer £18m – who has a deal with the club which has another three years left to run.
The Yorkshire giants are following several other attacking players in the form of Nikola Krstovic of Leece, Norwich City’s Josh Sargent and Willem Geubbels of St. Gallen.
It has been suggested that they have advanced their interest in Krstovic recently and are trying to agree on personal terms with the player.
Leeds might favour a more experienced striker than the 19-year-old Turkish starlet to help them with the challenges in the Premier League next season, but alternatively they could feel he is a top prospect who will have significant resale value.
The Elland Road outfit are also expected to complete the signing of defensive target Jaka Bijol from Udinese soon and he will become their second signing of the summer.
