While players like Leroy Sané [Galatasaray] and Eric Dier [Monaco] have already found a new club for next season and won't become free agents on July 1st, these players are still on the lookout for their next challenge in the world of football:
The Bayern legend is the only tricky exemption in this summary: his contract would've run out on July 1st, but since Bayern are still active in the Club World Cup, Müller's contract has been extended until the end of the tournament.
His immediate future remains uncertain: Müller has openly talked about the possibility of retirement, even though he still enjoys playing football on a regular and competitive level. He might even stay in the USA after the Club World Cup and go to a club from the MLS - LAFC and Cincinnati are very interested in his signature.
The goalkeeper made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha BSC Berlin in the 2021/22 season and managed 10 Bundesliga appearances. BVB snapped him up and made him their regular goalkeeper - in the 2nd team, which plays in the 3. Liga.
Lotka has not played a single game for Dortmund's 1st team and it remains to be seen, whether or not his journey in Germany continues.
Sandro Wagner's new club will lose players, who were highly regarded talents in the past: Robert Gumny and Fredrik Jensen. Gumny joined Augsburg in 2020 and managed 106 appearances for the Bavarian club. Jensen joined Augsburg even earlier in 2018 and played 111 games for Augsburg.
Augsburg are seemingly trying to change the club's core and get younger players in - and Gumny and Jensen were never really able to cement themselves in Augsburg's starting eleven.
Both players will become free agents on July 1st.
The former Wolfsburg leftback tried his luck in Germany's capital city - but it never really worked out. The Frenchman, who decided to represent Guadeloupe on international level, played 56 games for die Eisernen after joining them in 2022.
There are rumours about a possible return to France - but as of now, Roussillon will become a free agent on July 1st.
While Białek came to Wolfsburg as one of the biggest striker talents in Poland, Behrens arrived as a German national team player with the hopes of one last career highlight in Niedersachsen. In the end, both players were not really able to achieve anything at Wolfsburg.
The main reason for that is the fact that Wolfsburg already had an abundance of strikers at the club, with Jonas Wind, Lukas Nmecha and Mohamed Amoura leading the line last season.
There was never a real chance one of Białek or Behrens could get into Wolfsburg's starting eleven on a regular basis - and now their time with the Volkswagen club has come to an end.
Johannes Eggestein fits in the category “forever talents” - he showed a lot of potential in his earlier seasons, but was sadly not able to fully live up to it. Both him and Carlo Boukhalfa however, were regularly part of the St. Pauli squad: Eggestein played 29 games last season and Boukhalfa 27.
Both players will certainly have a market in Germany, if they'd decide to stay in this country. But for now, they will become free agents on July 1st.
Diadié Samassékou came to Hoffenheim from Salzburg in 2019 as one of their biggest talents: with a market value of €20 million and a fee of €12.5 million, a bright future was ahead.
After 6 years at Hoffenheim, including multiple loans, Samassékou's time in Sinsheim has sadly come to an end. The Mali international will now be on the lookout for a new challenge to maybe come close to the future he once imagined for himself.
