England face off against Argentina in a seismic World Cup semi-final tonight as they look to seal their place in a showpiece finale against Spain.
The BBC have snatched the presenting honours after only showing one of the three quarter-final ties, and are bracing for record viewing figures as a result.
The broadcaster has been criticised for keeping their coverage in Salford this tournament, with their MediaCity studio paling in comparison to ITV’s lavish Brooklyn setup, but the BBC has bit the bullet and flown out to Atlanta to present its coverage of England’s semi-final on the ground.
Mark Chapman will lead the coverage alongside pundits Wayne Rooney, Micah Richards and Joe Hart, who have all impressed with their analysis this tournament.
On commentary duties, Guy Mowbray will call the play-by-play, supported by legendary former England striker Alan Shearer.
Coverage of the match will begin at 7pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 7pm BST with kick-off at 8pm BST.
The semi-final will is the last match exclusively shown by either the BBC or ITV this World Cup, with with both to provide unique coverage for Sunday’s final in New Jersey.
