Tottenham are considering their next move after sacking Thomas Frank, with the club set to appoint a sixth permanent manager in seven years.
Spurs are 16th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone, and are expected to place an interim coach in charge until the end of the season, according to reports from Sky Sports. A longer-term decision is likely to be made in the summer.
Former Brighton and Marseille boss Roberto de Zerbi is among the names being discussed. The Italian is now without a club, having left Marseille by mutual consent overnight, and is regarded as a coach who favours attacking football.
Oliver Glasner, who is leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season, and Fulham manager Marco Silva have also previously been admired by Tottenham’s hierarchy.
However, many supporters would welcome a return for Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine led Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019 and remains a popular figure in north London. He is currently managing the United States ahead of this summer’s World Cup.
Whoever takes charge faces a significant task, with Spurs needing results quickly to ease relegation fears and restore confidence among supporters.
