FC Bayern have done it. With a commanding 2-0 win over RB Leipzig, the record champions are the last club to qualify for the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. The dream of winning the cup for the first time since 2020 is alive – and suddenly Berlin is very close again

In addition to Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart and SC Freiburg have also qualified for the last four. Four teams, two games – and just one more step to the final in the Olympic Stadium

For FC Bayern, the wait now begins for their next opponent

Draw on February 22 – Bayern watches on ZDF

The semi-final duels will be drawn on Sunday, February 22. The draw will take place on ZDF’s „Sportstudio live“ from around 5.15 p.m. It will take place during the half-time break of the women’s Bundesliga match between FC Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg, which kicks off at 4.20 p.m

For the FCB men, this means: keep your eyes open and your fingers crossed. All four remaining teams are in the same draw pot, and there are no longer any special rules. The team that is drawn first will have the right to play at home. This could be a decisive factor for Bayern – a semi-final at the Allianz Arena would significantly increase their chances of reaching the final

The matches themselves will be played on April 21 and 22, 2026, with ARD and ZDF each broadcasting one match live on free-to-air TV and Sky also showing both matches

After the well-deserved victory against Leipzig, the euphoria at Säbener Straße is palpable. The cup offers FC Bayern a great opportunity to add another exclamation mark to an already strong season. After years of early failure in the DFB Cup, the competition is once again of particular importance to the Munich club

The big goal is clearly defined: the final on 23 May 2026 in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. The record champions are still one game away from this final – but an opponent on an equal footing is certainly waiting in the semi-final

Whether home or away, Leverkusen, Stuttgart or Freiburg – FC Bayern will start as favourites in any case, but it is well known that the cup has its own rules

The next building block on the road to Berlin will be laid on Sunday, and in Munich they know that they are now just two steps away from the title.
