Why Arsenal’s Kepa is viewed as a possible target by Inter | OneFootball

Serie A giants Inter are left in a dilemma over who to sign as a goalkeeper, now that Josep Martinez has established himself as a regular. A new idea leads them to a possible move for Arsenal’s Kepa.

Inter have distanced themselves from a move for Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario. This is because Martinez is now the first-choice, making them now go in search for someone who can act as an effective back-up.

La Gazzetta dello Sport make it clear that Arsenal’s Kepa is an option. 

They want someone who has experience and reliability and a goalkeeper who has played at the highest level. Kepa’s trophy cabinet is especially appealing and Kepa matches the characteristics needed to fill that gap behind Martinez.

Arsenal’s demands are unknown, with a possible deal still in the evaluation stage.

Move can prove affordable

Considering everything, it feels like Kepa could do quite a reliable job at Inter. He has now done it everywhere and Arsenal may not cause difficulties in letting him go. 

They signed him for a very cheap fee last year, which should make things easy for Inter. They do not want to spend big on a second-choice and someone like Vicario will make no sense, considering his choice to be a regular.

Ivan Provedel has been mentioned as a target but he could also demand a regular role. Kepa would come in, do a job when called upon and be content with his role as a back-up.
