Marco Palestra was one of the shining lights during the 2025/26 Serie A campaign. The Atalanta wing-back was loaned out to Cagliari in a move that developed him and helped him earn a call-up to the Italian national team as well.
Now back with La Dea, Palestra can soon have a decision to make about his future. Manchester City have been linked with a move but it now increasingly feels like his next club could be in England.
Tuttomercatoweb report that while Inter are the most interested club, their move could only take off if Denzel Dumfries leaves. In the meantime, English intrigue has only grown.
Newcastle United and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Azzurri talent and even Liverpool can end up moving for the wing-back. Tottenham have always been attentive to the English market and they can also join the fray, with Manchester City also interested.
Atalanta won’t accept anything less than €40m for the 21-year-old, with Juventus having previously kept tabs on Palestra too.
Whenever Atalanta have a player worthy of joining a bigger club, they always aim for fees over €40 million. This has happened with Rasmus Hojlund, Mateo Retegui and even Teun Koopmeiners.
Italian clubs are usually hesitant to shell out that amount due to obvious financial reasons. Besides, Palestra has the physical profile of someone who can thrive in England. His agent has Riccardo Calafiori and Dejan Kulusevski as clients and ironing out an agreement with a major Premier League side won’t be an issue.
