La Liga champions Barcelona have encountered a concerning problem in efforts to offload some of the fringe members of the club’s first-team squad this summer.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards player salaries as the issue in question.

It is of course common knowledge that those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou are currently hard at work in efforts to shift some of the deadwood from Hansi Flick’s ranks.

This comes in a bid to open space on the club’s wage bill to register the likes of Gerard Martín and Wojciech Szczęsny.

Oriol Romeu, Iñaki Peña and Héctor Fort are the current favourites to be move on before the transfer window slams shut.

When it comes to the former pair, however, Deco and co. have hit something of a roadblock in negotiations with other clubs.

As per a report from Sport:

‘The clubs interested in acquiring their services are not willing to assume the players’ high salaries.’

Barcelona, as a result, will be forced to get creative when it comes to salary manoeuvres over the next week.
