After a barren few weeks, Milan find themselves in a battle to secure top four in the Serie A. Not long ago, they were in a title race but the dramatic shift has left them at a rather uncertain spot.

Daniele Longo has reported that there have been several meetings between the Milan management and Allegri in recent weeks. They have lasted quite long, which is a big sign that there are several issues to sort out between the two parties.

There is a lack of mutual satisfaction between them, with the higher management constantly unhappy at how Allegri, players and the coaching staff have failed to turn things around. The Italian has a different opinion and he hasn’t felt supported at the club. He feels the players have been on his side, fighting through the difficult period but he is seeking several guarantees from the management.

Even if they qualify for the Champions League, Allegri’s future will not be settled whatsoever. Everything will come down to whether the club’s management, Giorgio Furlani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are meeting his demands or not.

Familiar theme at Milan

The Rossoneri aren’t in a new situation, when it comes uncertain futures of managers. Due to the political nature of the job, multiple managers in the past haven’t quite impressed on a consistent basis. There has previously been instability about the sporting direction, holding back how things operate on the pitch.

Allegri finds himself at a similar crossroads. He probably believes the club isn’t doing enough to possibly challenge for the title, making signings that either do not fit his demands or not proven enough to help the club achieve that goal.
