Chelsea are once again being linked with Jacobo Ramon, the young. Como defender attracting all sorts of attention after a great season.

Transfer rumour site CaughtOffside claims that the Blues, as well as Arsenal, are keen to sign up the Spaniard, who could leave for a major fee this summer.

Chelsea provide unique opportunity for young defender

In some ways Chelsea are not a great prospect for a young player right now. The club are in chaos and aren’t even going to be in Europe next season.

However, there’s no denying that there’s the opportunity there for a young central defender to come in and force his way into the team. That’s certainly not the case at Arsenal, where the line for minutes there is pretty long.

None of the central defenders we’ve bought in the last few years have really convinced, and several will leave this summer.

If Ramon wants to come be a starter for a team with a big budget, Chelsea is a good option.
