VAR revoked a penalty kick for Empoli in the first half of a Serie A match against Juventus because of a Tino Anjorin handball in the build-up.
The Bianconeri were already 1-0 down when their goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio charged down Youssef Maleh inside the Old Lady’s box. Referee Luca Zufferli immediately awarded a spot kick to the Tuscans.

Juventus players protested as Empoli had won the ball a few seconds earlier with an Anjorin handball, so VAR referees checked the incident and then urged Zufferli to the pitchside monitor to review the potential foul as well.
The match official ruled that the ex-Chelsea midfielder’s handball was punishable, so he revoked the penalty for Empoli, giving a free-kick to Juventus instead.
The first half ended with Empoli leading 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium.
