Paris Saint-Germain made a major move in the January transfer window by securing former Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. This signing is expected to have a significant impact on the market.

Kvaratskhelia, who spent the first half of the 2024-25 season with Napoli, joined PSG this month on a contract that will keep him in the French capital until 2029.

While the transfer fee hasn’t been officially confirmed, reports indicate that PSG paid €70 million (£59 million), with additional add-ons, to bring the Georgian international to Paris.

Despite being linked to Liverpool and Manchester United this January, PSG came out on top in the race for his signature.

Why did Khvicha Kvaratskhelia choose PSG?

The new PSG forward answered questions from PSG TV. He talks about his happiness in joining the club and taking on new challenges in the French capital.

“The project is what convinced me to come here,” Kvaratskhelia told PSG TV. “I know what the club wants to achieve and how it works with the players. It aligns with who I am, many great players have played here, and I didn’t think twice when I had the opportunity to come to Paris.”

Kvaratskhelia has scored five goals and recorded three assists in 19 total appearances this season with Napoli before making the switch to PSG.
