Report: Man City deal with Maresca not wrapped up yet

Following reports that Maresca has a full agreement in place with Manchester City over an initial three year deal to replace Guardiola, Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports has said that negotiations progress between both parties to work out the finer aspects of a deal.

As such, it has been reported that City are hoping to close an agreement with the former EDS and first-team assistant coach this week as fans eagerly wait for the candidate chosen to lead them into life beyond Guardiola.

The make-up of Maresca’s coaching staff is also set to be discussed in the coming days, with Manchester City players due to report for pre-season in July before embarking on their first season without Guardiola at the helm.

What will Maresca’s first few months at Man City look like?

Maresca is understood to have held preliminary discussions with City sporting director Hugo Viana over the club’s pre-season and transfer window plans as the 46-year-old looks to stamp his print at the Etihad Stadium.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi are all believed to be on City’s summer shortlist as Viana and Maresca navigate what is expected to be a busy transitional period at the Etihad Stadium.
