Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana winger Tshepang Moremi has pointed to a significant logistical factor that could tip the scales in the tightly contested 2025/26 Betway Premiership title race, favoring the Soweto giants over reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pirates concluded the first round of the season in an impressive position, sitting at the summit of the league table. Under the guidance of head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who joined from Marumo Gallants, the team secured 28 points from 12 matches, boasting a record of nine victories, one draw, and only two defeats.

As the league prepares to resume, the focus sharpens on the championship battle. Moremi believes that while the challenge will be immense, his team holds a crucial edge. He highlights the demanding schedule of continental competition as a potential differentiator.

"Sundowns' commitments in the CAF Champions League involve extensive travel, which inevitably brings fatigue and disrupts preparation rhythms," Moremi stated during an appearance on PrimeSportsWithMahlatse.

"In contrast, our focus remains predominantly domestic. We will be traveling less and operating mostly within South Africa. This presents an opportunity for greater consistency in our physical readiness and mental focus."

The winger emphasized that capitalizing on this advantage requires unwavering determination from his squad. "We have to push hard; it won't be easy. But we must be mentally ready, clear about our objectives, and united in our aim to win the league. I have full trust in my team to deliver in this crucial second round."
