Seventh heaven! Borussia Dortmund have won each of their seven Bundesliga home games against Union Berlin to date. No team in Bundesliga history has played host to an opponent more often without dropping a single point. There has only been one similar run: between 1968 and 1984, Kickers Offenbach played away to Borussia Mönchengladbach seven times and lost seven times. But there has never been a run of seven home wins against the same opponent in the space of seven years before.

And another record: The 13 Bundesliga meetings between Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin have always produced a winner (nine BVB wins, four Union wins). No other pairing in Bundesliga history has happened so often without sharing the spoils once.

The run continues: Borussia Dortmund are on a 10-match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga stretching back into last season (eight wins and two draws).

Driving force: Julian Brandt was able to successfully extricate himself from 86% of his pressure situations. He completed 91% of his passes under pressure.

Only at home: Felix Nmecha has scored all 09 of his Bundesliga goals in home games (three for Wolfsburg and six for Dortmund).

Man of the Match

  • Serhou Guirassy registered seven of Dortmund's 10 shots.
  • Guirassy has scored 18 Bundesliga goals this calendar year – more than any other player.
  • He has scored eight Bundesliga goals against Union – more than against any other team.
  • The 29-year-old has netted in seven Bundesliga games in a row. The last BVB player to go on such a run was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2015.

Welcome! Aaron Anselmino is the sixth Argentine player to have appeared for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The last before him was Leonardo Balerdi (2019/20).

Unusual: For the first time under Niko Kovac, Pascal Groß started a Bundesliga match on the bench. The last time he had done so was on Matchday 11 of last season, when Nuri Sahin was still coach.Compiled by Boris Rupert
