Viktor Gyokeres has completed his much-anticipated transfer to Arsenal, with the Gunners hoping he can replicate the outstanding form he displayed at Sporting Club. The Swedish striker became one of Europe’s most prolific forwards during his time in Portugal, drawing attention from numerous top clubs throughout this transfer window.
Over the course of two seasons with Sporting, Gyokeres scored more than 90 goals and contributed to over 100 overall. His remarkable consistency in front of goal made him a target for several teams, although Sporting were reluctant to let him go easily. Despite interest from elsewhere, Gyokeres soon made Arsenal his preferred destination, turning down the possibility of a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, along with other options.
Sporting’s resistance to a deal forced Arsenal into extended negotiations. The Portuguese club eventually agreed terms with the Gunners after lengthy discussions. Arsenal, already deep into their preparations for the new season, proceeded to finalise the transfer once the two sides reached an understanding.
During this period, Gyokeres did not report for training with Sporting, further signalling his intention to leave. Following the agreement, he joined up with the Arsenal squad and has already started training ahead of their upcoming fixture against Tottenham.

There is growing anticipation among Arsenal fans who are eager to see the forward make his debut in one of the most significant matches of the pre-season. As reported by The Sun, there is a possibility that Gyokeres could be included in the squad for the game against Tottenham.
Such an appearance would offer supporters an early glimpse of what the striker might bring to the team. With his proven goalscoring record and evident determination to make an impact in England, his presence could provide a significant boost as Arsenal aim to challenge for major honours in the coming campaign.
